The Backyardigans are on tour this spring and summer, bringing their brand of family fun to fans across the country.


The Backyardigans is a childrens TV series that is a part of the kid-friendly TV lineup Nick Jr. The show is aimed towards children between the ages of two and ten, and it features five preschool friends - Pablo, Tyrone, Uniqua, Tasha and Austin. These kids turn their back yards into elaborate worlds with their imaginations, complete with upbeat music that appeal to kids and parents alike.

Pablo is a blue penguin, and he has most of the ideas - he is the group leader and very energetic. Hes known for getting over-excited and having "panic attacks” of sorts. Tyrone is Pablos best friend, a red-haired orange moose. Hes not as brave - but very laid back and likeable, though.

Uniqua is a pink creature with polka dots, and is usually friendly, but is known to be stubborn - she is a tomboy, and she has very strong opinions. Tasha is a girly girl - she is a hippopotamus in a flowered dress with red shoes. Shes very sweet, but is highly motivated. Austin is the new kid on the block, a fun-loving kangaroo who is shy but self confident.

All of the characters live in adjoining houses, and the back yard of the complex is where the fun begins. Episodes are filled with four new songs highlighting a different genre, such as big band, reggae, polka, disco and Motown, and there is almost always a rearrangement of a well-known traditional song.

The characters have been entertaining kids on the small screen since 2004, and now it will brings its brand of fun, spunk and music across the country.
