Phantom of the Opera Tickets

Phantom of the Opera News and Information Andrew Lloyd Webber's adaptation of "Phantom of the Opera" is touring over the next year, including a number of shows in the Midwest, Northeast, and Southern parts of the country.

"Phantom of the Opera" tells the heartbreaking tale of beautiful singer Christine Daae, who becomes the object of a mysterious and disfigured man's obsession in her opera house.

This musical has become a quintessential theater experience across the globe due to genius music by Webber, and lyrics by Charles Hart and Richard Stilgoe. The play opened in 1986 on London's West End, and it became the longest-running West end musical in history, only to be surpassed by "Les Miserables," as well as the longest-running Broadway musical.

"Phantom of the Opera" includes some of the most noteworthy musical numbers, including "The Phantom of the Opera," "Music of the Night," "Masquerade," "All I Ask of You" and "Angel of Music." The intricacy of the orchestra enhances each number - 27 musicians make up the large group, mostly string instruments, woodwind and brass, as well as acoustic instruments and synthesizers.

In 2006, "Phantom - The Las Vegas Spectacular" opened at The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino in Las Vegas. It gave the traditional musical a bit of a facelift, featuring state-of-the-art technology and effects. It created a new jumping-off point for all national tours to come, and it increased the excitement at each show.

According to its website, "Phantom of the Opera" is the most successful entertainment project in history - by 2007, it had grossed more than $5 billion. The show has been translated into several languages, and has been produced in over twenty countries on six continents.
