How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying, featuring rising star Daniel Radcliffe, is playing at New York's Al Hirschfield Theatre through December 2011.

The musical is based on a 1952 book by Shepherd Mead, which was later turned into a Broadway production in 1961. After nearly 1,500 performances at the 46th Street Theatre in New York City, the show was given the 1962 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, as well as seven Tony Awards and a New York Drama Critics Circle award.

The musical is now celebrating its 50th anniversary on Broadway with director Rob Ashford.

The musical centers around J. Pierrepont Finch, a window washer, who begins to hear a voice telling him to read the book 'How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying.' His aspirations for a better job take him to the World Wide Wicket Company, where he confronts the company president and demands a job.

The president tells him to contact the personnel manager, whom Finch can't find, when secretary Rosemary Pilkington offers to help him.

With a good word from a love-struck Rosemary, Finch is assigned to the company's mailroom alongside the company president's lazy nephew, Bud Frump.

Finch's voice now tells him to get out of the mailroom, and soon. Luckily he gets snagged for a junior executive position with the company, leaving the fuming Bud Frump behind. He continues to listen to the voice, which so far has not led him astray, and is soon promoted to the position of Vice President of Advertising. Meanwhile, his relationship with Rosemary starts to bloom.

Meanwhile, an angry Bud Frump wants to sabotage both Finch's position with the company and his relationship with Rosemary. When Bud plants an advertising idea in Finch's head that has already been shot down by the company president, Finch may lose his job and his girl.
