David Copperfield News and Information
Posted 6/18/2009

Illusionist David Copperfield has set up residence at the MGM Grand Hollywood Theatre in Las Vegas for an extended run through the end of September 2009.

Copperfield has become one of the best-known illusionists in the world, often combining his illusions with storytelling to a captivated audience.

Copperfield became interested in magic at the tender age of 12, and was the youngest person ever admitted to the Society of American Magicians. Early in his career, he had some theater and film roles, including the Chicago-based musical "The Magic man" and the 1980 horror film "Terror Train."

Copperfield has completed a number of illusions, including making the Statue of Liberty disappear, flying, levitating over the Grand Canyon and walking through the Great Wall of China.

Copperfield has starred on a number of television specials beginning in 1977. His latest was "The Magic of David Copperfield VXII: Tornado of Fire" in 2001.

In 1982, Copperfield founded Project magic, a rehabilitation program for disabled patients that focus on sleight-of-hand magic as physical therapy.
