Copperfield has starred on a number of television specials beginning in 1977. His latest was "The Magic of David Copperfield VXII: Tornado of Fire" in 2001.
In 1982, Copperfield founded Project magic, a rehabilitation program for disabled patients that focus on sleight-of-hand magic as physical therapy.
