Burn the Floor, the interesting blend of Latin and ballroom dancing, is back to burn up the floor of the Longacre Theater in New York. Burn the Floor was conceived in 1997 at the 50th birthday of Sir Elton John and takes the audience on a journey with the Viennese Waltz, Jive, Paso Doble, Tango, Samba, Mambo, Quickstep and Swing.
Burn the Floor features Dancing with the Stars own Karina Smirnoff and Maksim Chemerkovskiy, as well as 18 award-winning international dancers from Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Russia, Australia, Sweden, The Philippines and the U.S.
Jason Gilkison, the creator, director and choreographer of Burn the Floor is a former World Champion Latin and Ballroom dancer, and was a guest choreographer on So You Think You Can Dance.
This 2 hour 15 minute dance routine has been seen by audiences in more than 100 cities and in 30 countries.
