Aeros News and Information
Posted 6/18/2009
Aeros is a performance full of amazing gymnastic skills combined with acrobatic performances and theatrical displays.

The stage show was created by choreographers Daniel Exralow, David Pasrons and Moses Pendleton along with Like Cresswell and Steve McNicholas of the theater show STOMP. They brought together athletes from the Romanian Gymnastics Federation to create an awe-inspiring show of incredible music and remarkable physical abilities.

The show was created in 1997 when Antonio Gnecchi of AGR Associate in Milan decided to explore performing arts with Ezralow, Parsons and Pendleton. By 1999, they joined forces with the STOMP producers and approached the Romania gymnastics team, which was the first such a team joined with a performing arts project. The creative aspect of the show began at the University of Florida on September 11, 2000, and they have been going ever since.

Performers in the show range from 19 to 26, and five of them are World Champions in Artistic, Rhythmic and Sports Aerobics, while the others are European champions. While the organization was at first scared that the athletes would no longer be able to compete at national competitions, the performers remain active in the sports world, and they have even improved as a result of this training and performance.

The show has been both critically acclaimed and commercially successful, including a run on the BRAVO cable arts channel. The show has the tag line "Expect the unexpected,” and fans are certainly not let down, since they keep coming back for more.
