Red Bulls 2009 Season Update 2
Posted 7/26/2009
The New York Red Bulls are not exactly setting the world on fire, sitting in last place in the Eastern Conference.
They are just 2-13-4 and have managed just 10 total points on the season, which has them seven points behind the second to last place team.
Their goal differential of -15 is the worst in the league as is their overall record. Maybe they should just change their name back to the Metrostars.
Juan Pablo Angel leads the team with six goals, but the next higher scorer has found the back of the net just twice.
While it's not as if the Red Bulls are winning a lot anywhere, they have been especially terrible on the road.
Since 2002, the team has never really had an outstanding season, but they have managed three winning years.
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that New York won't be making that four years in 2009.
