Houston Dynamo 2009 Season Update
Posted 7/19/2009
The Houston Dynamo is currently 9-4-4 and sitting in first place in the Western Conference.
The team also owns the rights to the best record in all of the MLS and holds a three-point lead over the Seattle Sounders for first place in their conference.
Houston began the season winless in its first four games but quickly picked up where they left off last year.
Brian Ching leads the team with five goals while Stuart Holden and Kei Kamar have four a piece.
Midfielder Mike Chabala is the only player on the team who has received a red card so far this season.
Since their inaugural season in 2006, the Dynamo has been a model franchise to other teams in the MLS.
They have had three straight winning seasons and are already almost guaranteed to make that four in a row.
The Dynamo looks like a team that could do some serious damage in the postseason and has to be considered a real threat to win the MLS Cup.
