The club used to have the services of the ever popular Ronaldinho, arguably the most talented soccer player in the world. However, the team elected to make roster changes and sell him off to AC Milan. He was just one of several key players that were jettisoned in this way.

You can't argue with the results though, as FC Barcelona went on to be crowned La Liga champions for the 2008-2009 season.
