Columbus Crew 2009 Season Update
Posted 7/19/2009
The Columbus Crew currently sit at 5-3-9 and in third place in their division behind Chicago and Toronto.
The Crew are not out of it by any stretch of the imagination, as thing are really crowded at the top.
Just one point separates the top four teams, meaning things should be nip and tuck the rest of the way.
The Crew started out the season a little sluggishly, playing to three draws and two losses before winning their first game of the year.
They have played very well of late, having won three of their past five games, including one draw.
Another good sign has been their play against division-leading Chicago. The two teams have played twice, both times to a draw.
The team is led in goals by Guillermo Barros Schelotto, who has already scored 10 times on the season.
The Crew will definitely be a team to keep an eye on as the season progresses.
