The Helluva Good Sour Cream Dip at Watkins Glen takes place August 14 in Watkins Glen, NY and is one of the most unique races of the NASCAR season.
The winding road course doesn't boast the speeds that NASCAR fans often see at tracks like Daytona or Charlotte, but it requires a lot of skill from the drivers to navigate their way around "The Glen."
The entire race is only 220.5 miles, making it one of the shortest on the NASCAR circuit. Ironically, the new sponsor has caused the race to have one of the longest names.
The 3.4 mile course features 11 turns, and because of the track, only seats about 41,000 fans. Tickets are extremely difficult to come by, so fans are urged to snatch them up as soon as possible.
The inaugural race occurred in 1986, but the track did host NASCAR races all the way back in the 1950's. Tony Stewart has dominated the race, winning it five times since 2002. Jeff Gordon, who has been very successful on road courses throughout his career, has won the race three times.
