Tampa Bay Lightning 09-10 Season Wrap Up
Posted 4/21/2010
The Tampa Bay Lightning finished in fourth place in the Southeast Conference and missed out on the playoffs.
The Lightning finished just a couple of games below .500 and had a chance to get into the postseason until the last couple of weeks of the season.
Tampa Bay was by and large a disappointment, as they sat in sixth place in the Eastern Conference heading into the break for the Olympics.
The team greatly struggled after the break, and the slide cost them a possibly postseason berth.
There were major clashes between general manager Brian Lawton and head coach Rick Tocchet, and that certainly didn't help matters. No worries, there won't be any more clashes between the two men. Both were fired at the end of the season.
That means the Lightning will now have to find both a new general manager and a new head coach. The team will first look to replace Lawton, and then the new GM will have the task of bringing in his head coach.
