News and Information
The St. Louis Blues are holding it down in last place in the Central Division, but amazingly the playoffs are still a possibility.

In the crazy Western Conference, the Blues are only a handful of points or so behind the teams fighting for the final few playoff spots.

The schedule does not bode well for such a push, at least not in the near future. The team plays four of its next five games on the road, and three of those contests are against some of the best teams in the conference.

Brad Boyes leads the Blues with 50 points, as well as a team-high 25 goals. He also leads the club with 14 power play goals. David Perron leads the team with 28 assists.

The Blues have managed a fairly productive offense despite the fact left wing Paul Kariya is on injured reserve after undergoing surgery on his hip. Kariya is a big loss for any team, especially St. Louis.

It has been somewhat of a carousel in the net, as the team has played five different goaltenders this year. That ties for the most goalies used by any team in the entire league this year.

Chris Mason has playing in the most games and been the most effective, sporting a 2.42 goals against average. He is also stopping over 91 percent of the shots he sees.

Manny Legace has also seen a lot of time in the cage but with much less impressive results. He is giving up 3.13 goals per game and stopping less than 89 percent of the shots he has faced.

Ben Bishop, Marek Schwarz and Chris Holt have combined to play in just eight games, with a cumulative record of 1-1. Schwarz and Holt have played so little that they haven't even allowed a goal yet.

It's highly unlikely the Blues will be able to jump over all of those teams and sneak into the playoffs, especially considering the fact that they have showed no signs of life that would make you think they have a late season run in them.
