San Jose Sharks 2010-11 Mid-Season Review
Posted 2/2/2011
The San Jose Sharks currently sit in fourth place in the Pacific Division but within striking distance of the first place Dallas Stars.
Despite their position near the bottom of the division, the Sharks would grab the final playoff seed in the Western Conference were the postseason to begin today.
They have played equally as well on the road as at home, but there is still plenty of room for improvement.
With talented guys like Patrick Marleau, Joe Thornton and Dany Heatley leading the way, it's really hard to envision a scenario that has the Sharks sitting home and watching the playoffs on television.
San Jose was the No. 1 seed in the playoffs last year before another early flameout frustrated players and fans alike. The team has suddenly fallen back this year, but maybe the lowered expectations will actually benefit them.
They certainly have plenty of playoff experience, even if it isn't necessarily the good kind. I'd be surprised if a team as talented as the Sharks didn't find a way into the postseason, and they would be an extremely dangerous first-round opponent.
