Phoenix Coyotes 2011-12 Mid-Season Review
Posted 2/3/2012
The Phoenix Coyotes are currently in fourth place in the Pacific Division but still within striking distance for a playoff berth and the division-leading San Jose Sharks.

The Coyotes had a long offseason as they awaited news as to whether they would be relocating, but now that distraction is off their minds for at least one more year. They haven't exactly treated the home fans to anything special, going just 10-9-1 at Jobing.com Arena.

Phoenix has been shuffling its goaltenders, trying to find someone who can stop opposing shots on a consistent basis. So far, they've had very little luck in identifying who that guy might be.

This team is still very much alive in the playoff hunt, but I do not see a postseason berth in their future. Ray Whitney is a star, but I just don't see that much talent on this team. They could sneak into the playoffs in the Eastern Conference, but the Western Conference is a totally different animal.
