Philadelphia Flyers 2011-12 Mid-Season Review
Posted 2/3/2012
The Philadelphia Flyers are in second place in the Atlantic Division but well within striking distance of the New York Rangers and the No. 1 overall seed in the Eastern Conference.

The Flyers fell just a bit short of the Stanley Cup in the past two seasons, so they have plenty of experience and motivation to make another run at the title.

Philadelphia has more scoring power than the rival Rangers, but their goaltending is suspect to say the least. That usually comes back to haunt teams in the postseason unless they have a goalie that can get red hot just at the right time. That's not impossible for the Flyers, but it's not likely, either.

The City of Brotherly Love is craving for one of its winter sports teams to win a championship, and it still appears that the Flyers are their best shot. With that said, Philadelphia is going to need to play better on the defensive end of the ice if they want to get another crack at the Stanley Cup.
