New Jersey Devils 2010-11 Mid-Season Review
Posted 1/31/2011
The New Jersey Devils were expected to be among the best teams in the Eastern Conference this season, but instead they are sitting in the cellar of the Atlantic Division.
The team has really struggled under new head coach John MacLean, so they fired him and brought back Jacques Lemaire.
Lemaire was the head coach that brought the Devils their first three Stanley Cups, but he stepped down at the end of last year. Apparently, he just couldn't get coaching hockey out of his blood.
Because of Lemaire's previous success with the Devils, there is a lot of hope and optimism surrounding the second half of the season. However, you have to wonder just how much motivation the 65-year old coach will have at this point in his career.
However, New Jersey has an awful lot of ground to make up to even start thinking about postseason play. They will need to just take things one at a time and try to string together one win after another.
