Montreal Canadiens 2011-12 Mid-Season Review The Montreal Canadiens have been a major disappointment over the first half of the season as they currently sit just a few points out of last place in the Northeast Division.

The Canadiens have played listless hockey in front of their home fans and sit in the middle of the pack when it comes to both goals scored and goals allowed.

They are in a division that features just one elite team, the Boston Bruins, which gives them plenty of hope to make a serious push in the second half of the season. It's hard to believe a team with the amount of talent that Montreal possesses could possibly miss the playoffs.

It was only a couple of years ago when the Canadiens snuck into the playoffs and caught fire, eliminating the Stanley Cup favorite Washington Capitals. While they may not have a similar run in them this season, expect them to at least make a strong push for one of the final playoff spots.
