Florida Panthers 2010-11 Season Preview
Posted 9/28/2010
The Florida Panthers were one of the worst teams in the Eastern Conference last season, leaving little hope for their fans heading into this year.
It seems like forever since the Panthers have been a part of the postseason, and I wouldn't expect that to change anytime soon.
The Panthers did bring in a new general manager in the offseason, which has inspired some hope around the organization. I mean, it can't get much worse, can it?
Dale Tallon helped build the Chicago Blackhawks into a Stanley Cup champion, so some Florida fans are getting way ahead of themselves and expecting similar results in a very short period of time with their Panthers.
They already have a solid goaltender in Tomas Vokoun, so that at least gives him something to work with. It always helps when one of the most important positions on the ice is set for years to come.
Florida fans aren't exactly the biggest hockey fanatics to begin with, so they aren't going to be a very patient and supportive bunch while the team tries to slowly rebuild the talent stock.
