As expected, it was an ugly year for the Florida Panthers, who come into the 2011-2012 season hoping to at least show some improvement and give their fans a reason to show up to the ice rink.

The Panthers were by far the most active team in the offseason, making a flurry of trades to try and upgrade their roster. They had a lot of cash to spend, which made it easy to open up the checkbook.

All the new faces are a reason for optimism, but it might take awhile for everyone to come together. That means it could be a rocky start for Florida, something the organization has become all too accustomed to.
