Colorado Avalanche 2010-11 Mid-Season Review
Posted 2/2/2011
The Colorado Avalanche is currently in second place in the Northwest Division, but they have their work cut out for them to chase down the first place Vancouver Canucks.

The team has struggled a bit over its past 10 games, and they have played equally as well at home as on the road. They are just a few games above .500, so the second place standing is a little misleading.

There is a possibility that the Avalanche could get a big boost from a former star in the second half of the season. Peter Forsberg is attempting a comeback and has been practicing with the team.

Who knows what he has left in the tank, but he should help in some way. If nothing else, Forsberg's return might at least give the team a morale boost and some additional confidence for the stretch run.

Colorado has a solid team, but the Avalance is certainly nowhere near the level of the Canucks. The Avalanche is going to have a hard enough time just making the playoffs much less toppling the division leader.
