Carolina Hurricanes 09-10 Season Wrap Up
Posted 4/21/2010
The Carolina Hurricanes finished third in the Southeast Division and just missed out on landing a playoff spot.
Unfortunately for the Hurricanes, they came out of the gate too slowly and waited a little bit too long to start playing their best hockey.
Carolina played pretty well over the past three months, but were so far behind in the standings by that point that they could never quite catch back up.
At least the team has some momentum and good feelings heading into next season.
The Hurricanes will await a decision from Rod Brind'Amour to see if he will return for another season. He will be turning 40 years old and doesn't know whether or not he wants to come back.
Eric Staal has become the face of the franchise and inherited the Captain honor from Brind' Amour. The Hurricanes are going to try and build their team around Staal, one of the best at his position in the Eastern Conference.
