Calgary Flames 2011-12 Mid-Season Review
Posted 2/3/2012
The Calgary Flames are sitting in fourth place in the Northwest Division yet still have a decent shot at claming one of the eight spots in the Western Conference playoffs.
The Flames are only a few points behind the second and third place teams in the division, as well as the final clubs to make the playoffs if they were to begin today.
Jarome Iginla is once again the team's leader in points. It seems like it isn't a hockey season in Calgary without Iginla lighting up the scoreboard. It's pretty hard to picture the Flames without him on the ice, though they are going to have to find a replacement for him at some point.
Calgary must play better on the road and do a little better job on both ends of the ice if they want to sneak into the playoffs. There are a lot of really good teams in the Western Conference, leaving little margin for error if Calgary wants to be playing spring hockey.
