Buffalo Sabres 2011-12 Mid-Season Review
Posted 2/3/2012
The Buffalo Sabres have been a major disappointment over the first half of the season as they struggle to climb their way out of the basement of the Northeast Division.

With Ryan Miller in goal, everyone expect the Sabres to be a tough team to beat and that they would at least hang around in the division title race. So far, it hasn't quite worked out that way.

Problems on the road haven't helped, as the team actually went through a 12-game losing streak away from home. They had not played well at all over their past 10 games, meaning the All-Star break really couldn't have come at a better time for the Sabres.

The Sabres are only 10 points away from a playoff berth, making it a difficult decision as to which direction to go following the All-Star break. They could try and make a run at the playoffs or elect to start looking toward the future, dumping salary and trading away some of their key veterans.
