Boston Bruins 2011-12 Mid-Season Review
Posted 2/3/2012
The Boston Bruins are the defending Stanley Cup champions, but no one can accuse them of having any type of hangover after last year's championship run.

The Bruins are in control of the Northeast Division thanks to a solid record on both the road and at home and the largest goal differential advantage in the entire Eastern Conference.

Tim Thomas has been simply outstanding in goal, turning back Father Time even though he is coming off such a long season. Boston has given up the second fewest among of goals in the Eastern Conference behind just the New York Rangers.

Some strange trade rumors regarding Thomas had been floating around, but they appear to have subsided as Boston continues to bury opponents.

With Thomas in goal and the Bruins playing well in virtually all areas, it looks like this team has another Stanley Cup push in them. The only concern is that Thomas could get injured or worn down over the second half of the season, but so far, so good.
