Boston Bruins 2010-11 Mid-Season Review
Posted 1/31/2011
The Boston Bruins are having another tremendous regular season and currently hold a narrow lead over the Montreal Canadiens for first place in the Northeast Division.

Rookie Bard Marchand has really given the team a spark, and a lot of his teammates have taken to the way the kid has battled his way from the minor leagues up to the major league club.

Goaltender Tim Thomas has just been lights out in the net. He is allowing just 1.83 goals per game and stopping 94 percent of the shots he has faced. He also has seven shutouts and is a marvelous 23-4 on the season.

The Bruins would be in significant trouble without Thomas in goal, as backup Tuukka Rask has really struggled in limited duty. He is only 4-10 with a 2.67 goals against average.

Zdeno Chara is the leader on the defensive end and one of the more exiting play to watch in the entire league. It's simply amazing that a player of his height is so good on his skates.

Boston is certainly the favorite to hold on and clinch the division, but they can't afford to slip up with the Montreal Canadiens breathing down their back. The Buffalo Bruins also remain within striking distance.
