Atlanta Thrashers Tickets

Despite playing in one of the weakest divisions in hockey, the Atlanta Thrashers still sit in last place with the least amount of points in the Eastern Conference.

Atlanta isn't a big sports town to begin with, and the fact that Thrashers are so bad in the fourth most popular professional sport certainly isn't helping to grow any type of fanbase in the area.

The sad thing is that Atlanta is actually coming off a four-game winning streak which significantly increased their total points for the season. If not for that, their record would really look bad.

Ilya Kovalchuk leads the Thrashers with 61 points, including 30 goals, which is also tops on the team.

Todd White leads the team with 35 assists and is also the leading scorer on the power play with 10 goals.

The goaltending has been absolutely horrific, although some if it can be attributed to an equally as poor defense.

Opposing teams stuck in scoring droughts salivate at the chance to play against the Thrashers, who usually tend to make their worries disappear.

Kari Lehtonen is allowing 3.16 goals per game despite a respectable 90.8 save percentage. It's clear that Lehtonen, while not a star, is doing a decent job but getting absolutely no support in front of him.

Meanwhile, Johan Hedberg has been terrible. He is allowing 3.61 goals per game with around an 88 percent save percentage. That won't typically get the job done, especially with such a poor defense surrounding him.

Atlanta simply has to play the rest of this season out and hope it ends sooner than later. Then they need to get agressive on the free agent market and bring in some quality defensemen who will give their goalie a chance to actually win some games.
