For Tiger Woods, the U.S. Open will be the only major he will win this season.

The reason is that Woods has way more ligament damage in his knee than anyone could have possibly imagined and will need to undergo season-ending surgery.

Woods wins U.S. Open on 91st hole

It took 91 holes, but Tiger Woods knee held up long enough to defeat Rocco Mediate in what became a 19-hole playoff and win the U.S. Open.

Woods was down one stroke heading into the 18th hold but sunk a par putt to move into a sudden death playoff.
