Washington Wizards 2010-11 Mid-Season Review
Posted 1/25/2011
The Washington Wizards were cautiously optimistic heading into the season, but things have not panned out as they had hoped.
The team was expecting Gilbert Arenas to return 100 percent healthy and focused on once again being one of the league's top players. Instead, the team ultimately traded him to Orlando for Rashard Lewis.
The No. 1 overall pick, John Wall, has spent much of the season banged up. He has played very well at times and has shown reasons to have hope for the future, but he has shown why he is only a rookie as well.
The most embarrassing part of Washington's season has been its play on the road. The Wizards have not won a single game away from home yet, and that may not change anytime soon.
One of the few bright spots has been the play of JaVale McGee. He has established himself as one of the top young centers in the NBA. Anytime you can find a quality big man, it's important to hold onto him.
The Wizards won't be playing any games in the postseason this year. Instead, it's all about trying to get better each and every day and continue to build toward the future.
