Utah Jazz 2010 Playoffs Preview
Posted 4/15/2010
The Utah Jazz have closed the season in a strong fashion and are suddenly one of the hottest teams in the NBA.

The Jazz have been one of the biggest challengers to the Los Angeles Lakers in past years and seem ready once again to step up and try to take them down.

Utah sports a rare tandem of double-double players in point guard Deron Williams and forward Carlos Boozer. Williams could be one of the biggest keys in the playoffs. He is one of the top point guards in the postseason and Utah must take advantage of that, especially against a team like the Lakers.

The Lakers lack a star point guard, and Williams has a huge size advantage over most players who will be assigned to him in the playoffs. He can use his body to post up or create space to get to the basket.

Andrei Kirilenko has struggled the past few years, but he has become an impact player once again. Kirilenko can be dominant at times on the defensive end and a complimentary player offensively.

Utah might just have the deepest, most effective bench in the league. The Jazz will typically go 10 players deep and can even bring in more guys off the bench if necessary.

Wesley Matthews has been outstanding in his rookie season after not even getting drafted. He was quite a find for the Jazz.

The team has also been thrilled with the play of backup point guard Eric Maynor, who is also doing big things in his rookie season.

The Jazz haven't been able to get over the hump in past years, but maybe they have caught fire at just the right time this season.
