Toronto Raptors 09-10 Season Wrap Up
Posted 4/21/2010
The Toronto Raptors won their final game of the season, but a Chicago Bulls victory meant the team fell one win short of reaching the playoffs.
The team finished two games below .500, so it's hard to feel too bad for them considering their losing record. Any team that doesn't have a winning record doesn't belong in the playoffs anyway.
It's a tough pill to swallow for Toronto and their fans considering how unlikely it is that star forward Chris Bosh will re-sign and return to the team next season.
Trying to fill Bosh's large shoes will not be easy, and Toronto is a tough draw for potential free agents. It's the only basketball city outside of the U.S. and is not exactly a goldmine for the NBA's top players.
The team spent big money to lure Hedo Turgolu to Toronto last offseason, and he was a disappointment. Turgolu barely reached double figures in scoring and did not have near the same impact he had in Orlando.
While it is disappointing for the team that they didn't reach the playoffs, it might be better that way. The Raptors would have taken on the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round, which would have ended quite quickly for Toronto.
