Toronto Raptors 2011-12 Season Preview
Posted 12/21/2011
Much to the chagrin of their fans, the Toronto Raptors were one of the worst teams in all of basketball last year, and hopes are not high for the 2011-2012 season.

With Chris Bosh out of the picture, the Raptors don't even have a single star player on their roster to market to their fans or get anyone excited about coming to watch the team play.

The good news is the Raptors have finally gone into total rebuilding mode with Bosh out of the picture, and the franchise has acquired a lot of young, talented players who may one day form the nucleus of a playoff team.

Jerry Bayless and Ed Davis are two players that left the college game early to start their NBA careers. Both have the potential to be NBA All-Stars one day.

Andrea Bargnani lead the Raptors by averaging over 21 points per game last year, though he isn't much of a factor on the defensive end. DeMar DeRozan is the current leader of the team despite being just 22 years old and was the second leading scorer on the team last year.

It's going to be another long year for Toronto fans, but at least there are some signs of hope with all of the young players on the roster. Another poor record would just allow the Raptors a great chance at a high draft pick and acquiring another player who could be a key piece to a future contending team. The fans have to be patient.
