Sacramento Kings 09-10 Season Wrap Up
Posted 4/21/2010
The Sacramento Kings were better than expected this season, and one man is responsible for the team's relative success.

Tyreke Evans showed that he could be a future superstar in just his rookie season, averaging 20 points per game and leading the team in scoring and assists.

Some questioned whether Evans would be worthy of his high pick because he didn't have a true position, but he appears to have put those concerns to rest.

Evans isn't a point guard or shooting guard, just a really good basketball player. He can drive into the lane at will and finish at the basket or dish it off to a teammate for a score. Once his shot improves, look out.

The Kings made a big trade right before the deadline, dealing away All-Star guard Kevin Martin. The trade with save the Kings money until they think they are ready to be a legitimate contender.

The team is hopeful that Donte Greene and Sean May will continue to develop alongside Evans and that a couple more top draft picks could put together a nice nucleus.

Sacremento won't be a playoff contender next season, but at least the rebuilding process is underway.
