Philadelphia 76ers 09-10 Season Wrap Up The Philadelphia 76ers turned in another disappointing season as they continue to be weighed down by Elton Brand and his big contract. Who knew two years ago that signing Elton Brand to a big contract would have turned out like this?

In fact, things got so bad in the sports-crazed city of Philadelphia that the Sixers had one of the league's lowest attendance numbers.

The team signed Allen Iverson to a deal several weeks into the season hoping he could help sell tickets and re-energize the arena. The plan worked for awhile, but injuries and off-court issues quickly caught up to The Answer and the Sixers.

Iverson left the team to deal with a medical condition involving his daughter, one he didn't want to make public out of respect for his family's privacy. He then left the team again and his wife filed for divorce.

Things only got uglier from there for Iverson, as reports stated that he had a gambling and alcohol problem. He made it known he would not return to the team for the rest of the season and it's likely that his career has come to a sad and premature end.
