Philadelphia 76ers 2010-11 Mid-Season Review

The Philadelphia 76ers sit well below the .500 mark yet have managed to hang onto third place in the Atlantic Division.
Elton Brand has shown signs of life at times this season, but still isn't worth anywhere near the money they paid for him. The signing had Sixers fans really excited, but he has been a dud.
He is averaging just under 15 points per game to go along with more than eight rebounds per contest. That's good enough to lead the team in both categories, which isn't a good sign.
Rookie Evan Turner has played better than he did during Summer League action, but he still isn't producing up to the level that the Sixers hoped he would. I thought Turner could be a poor man's Grant Hill, but that isn't even close to coming true.
New head coach Doug Collins really hasn't made much of a difference from the previously fired Eddie Jordan. Collins has a losing record over the course of his career, which made the hire a little bit baffling.
There is a lot of young talent on this team, but getting it all to develop and play together isn't an easy task. At this rate, the Sixers will end up grabbing one of the final playoff spots in the Eastern Conference en route to a first round exit.
