Oklahoma City Thunder 2010-11 Mid-Season Review
Posted 1/26/2011
There was a lot of hype surrounding the Oklahoma City Thunder heading into the season, and so far they have not disappointed.
Oklahoma City currently sits atop the Northwest Division and appears set for another playoff berth.
If they manage to hold onto the division title over the second half of the season, the Thunder would end up with no worse than a No. 3 seed in the playoffs. That would put them in excellent position to win a first-round playoff series.
Kevin Durant hasn't had the easiest time living up to the crazy expectations put on him after his world championships performance, but he has picked it up of late. He is averaging over 28 points and six rebounds per game.
Russell Westbrook has exploded into the conversation of top point guards in the conference. He is averaging over 22 points and eight assists per game. He's also adding five rebounds and almost two steals per contest.
The absence of a legitimate low post scoring threat continues to be the one blemish on the Thunder's young and talented roster. For now, Serge Ibaka and Nenad Krstic are holding down the fort.
