New York Knicks 2011-12 Season Preview
Posted 12/21/2011
The pressure is on for the New York Knicks, specifically head coach Mike D' Antoni, as the team looks to to make noise in the playoffs and return basketball in the Big Apple to its glory years.

The team signed Amare Stoudemire last year and then traded for Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups, only to get knocked out of the playoffs in the first round.

Anthony, whose acquisition brought about a lot of excitement around Madison Square Garden, said at the time it was going to take longer than some fans might expect for the team to become a legitimate title contender. Anthony, who is no stranger to the area, should know that Knicks fans don't want to hear excuses.

A lot of this year's success, or lackthereof, may land on the shoulders of Billups. He has been know throughout his career as an underrated point guard who hits big shots in big games, but does he have any gas left in the tank?

The Knicks should be a lock for the playoffs this year, and with mounting press on both the star players and coach, it's now or never for this group. They should be good enough to win at least one playoff series, and if things come together, they could be a serious threat to the Miami Heat. Music to the ears of Knicks fans everywhere!
