New Orleans Hornets 09-10 Season Wrap Up
Posted 4/21/2010
The New Orleans Hornets lost star point guard Chris Paul for two months with a knee injury and their playoff hopes went with him. The Hornets already lack star players as it is, so losing their best player was just way too much to overcome.

The good news is that Paul should be back 100 percent next year, but the Hornets are going to need to be active in free agency and bring in a sidekick to take some of the pressure off of him.

The injury to Paul has allowed Darren Collison to see a significant increase in his minutes and he has not disappointed. In fact, he has been so good that the Hornets are looking at starting Paul and Collison together in the backcourt next season.

The one problem is that the Hornets do have cash flow issues, so it remains to be seen whether they will be able to go out and bring in quality free agents who could make them a serious contender.

Until New Orleans get can their financial situation squared away, it looks like they will have to lean on Paul to single-handedly carry them to the playoffs and beyond.
