New Orleans Hornets 2010-11 Mid-Season Review
Posted 1/26/2011
The New Orleans Hornets have rebounded nicely from a team that missed the playoffs last year to one that should be among the top eight in the Western Conference this season.
The Hornets are currently third in the Southwest Division, but they are neck-and-neck with Dallas for second place.
Point guard Chris Paul asked to be traded in the offseason because he was unhappy with the way the front office was trying to improve the team. The team ultimately decided to hold onto him, and it seems like it's working out so far.
Paul is averaging over 16 points and nine assists per game, and he is getting some help from his teammates. David West leads the team in scoring at over 19 points per game and is also hauling in more than seven rebounds per contest.
Emeka Okafor isn't much of a scorer, but he is pulling down over 10 rebounds per game and plays excellent defense.
The Hornets are definitely playing much better basketball than last year, but this team lacks the talent of many other top clubs in the West. Expect a trip to the playoffs, but a short one at that.
