Minnesota Timberwolves 09-10 Season Wrap Up
Posted 4/21/2010
The Minnesota Timberwolves remain one of the NBA's absolute worst teams, but there is a group of young, talented players that could mold the team as a whole into a contender in a couple of years.
Minnesota is already set in the low-post with a talented duo of young scorers in Al Jefferson and Kevin Love. Jefferson is on the verge of stardom while Love will be a solid sidekick for years to come.
Things get a little more interesting in the backcourt, especially since draft pick Ricky Rubio has decided to stay in Spain rather than join Minnesota in the NBA.
Jonny Flynn has played well at times as the team's starting point guard, but he still has a lot of areas in which he can improve. Flynn's outside shooting is shaky at best and he still has trouble deferring to his teammates.
Another positive this year has been the play of Corey Brewer, who seems to have taken a big step forward in his third NBA season. A knee injury cut his season short in 2008-2009, but he looks 100 percent recovered.
If the Timberwolves can put together another solid draft, get Rubio onto the roster and maybe make a play on a top free agent, things should be much more exciting in the Twin Cities next season.
