Memphis Grizzlies Tickets

For the Memphis Grizzlies, it's been another painful season in a rebuilding project that never seems to end and rarely show any progress.

The organization already grew frustrated with the lack of progress earlier in the season and fired their head coach.

One of the few bright spots has been the play of Rudy Gay, who has significantly improved each year in the league. He is averaging 18.8 points per game but is still working on his rebounding.

Rookie guard O.J. Mayo has shown a lot of potential and has played pretty well despite being a part of a team that has its share of problems. He actually leads the team in scoring with 19.4 points per game.

Hakim Warrick and Marc Gasol are the third and fourth-leading scorers, respectively. Warrick is a decent player who has value, but it's a serious problem when he is the third-leading scorer on your team.

The team has finally taken the reigns off of point guard Mike Conley and are letting him do his own thing. His play has improved because of that ability to freelance and maybe it can help energize the whole team.

Kyle Lowry has also made a push for time at the point guard position, but he hasn't played well enough to overtake Conley. Both players are averaging just about the same number of points and assists per game.

Depth is an issue on this team as well, as the Grizzlies don't really have an impact player coming off of the bench. Rookie Darrell Arthur should develop into a solid role player in time, but there isn't much else to get excited about.

Memphis fans are going to have to be patient for another couple of years as this team continues to develop and adds the necessary pieces to become a playoff contender in the Western Conference.
