Los Angeles Clippers 09-10 Season Wrap Up
Posted 4/21/2010
The Los Angeles Clippers selected Blake Griffin with the No. 1 overall pick in the NBA Draft months before the season started. Unfortunately, that was the highlight of the year.
Griffin would go down with a serious knee injury before the season even got underway and did not play in a single regular season game. The injury was an ominous forecast to a season that fell apart before it even started.
Things only went downhill from there, as the Clippers quickly fell out of contention in the Western Conference playoff race, although not to say that they were every really in it, either.
The Clippers have received a good season out of their front line. Chris Kaman has bounced back from a disappointing 2008-2009 season to lead the team with 18 points per game. Marcus Camby, a midseason acquisition, leads the team with over 12 rebounds per contest.
The backcourt duo isn't bad either, as veteran Baron Davis has taken Eric Gordon under his wings. Davis worked hard in the offseason to get into better shape and the results have shown on the court.
If the Clippers can get back a healthy Griffin and bring in a couple of quality players through the draft, they may be able to make a run at a playoff spot next year.
