Los Angeles Clippers 2011-12 Season Preview
Posted 12/21/2011
The Los Angeles Clippers didn't make the playoffs last year, but that didn't stop them from becoming one of the most exciting teams to watch in the entire league.

Much of the excitement centers around the play of power forward Blake Griffin, whose unbelievable athleticism turns a lot of games into dunk contests. Griffin plays harder than just about anyone in the league, which is another reason why he is so well-liked and Clippers games are suddenly fun to watch.

Los Angeles finally took a gamble in the offseason, landing point guard Chris Paul from the New Orleans Hornets for Eric Gordon and a package of other young players. Paul should form an incredible duo with Blake Griffin, who will really become his own highlight show with such a great point guard feeding him the ball.

The Clippers also signed Caron Butler to a three-year deal. If this deal was struck three years ago, it would have been well-received. Butler has been constantly underrated in the past, but he is now 31-years old and coming off of a serious knee injury. It's hard to see him making a huge impact.

Griffin isn't the only part of a young, exciting team. The Clippers are also high on DeAndre Jordan and expect him to continue to adjust to life in the NBA.

Los Angeles was still a player or two away from reaching the playoffs in such a loaded conference, but the Paul trade has changed all of that. The Clippers might actually steal headlines from the Lakers this year and could even finish with a better record, which would be quite a changing of the guard.
