Los Angeles Clippers

News and Information
The Los Angeles Clippers have been worse than advertised as they sit with just 13 wins on the season, good enough for one of the lowest totals in all of the league.

Things started off well for the Clippers in the offseason, as they lured point guard Baron Davis away from rival Golden State and got him to sign on to a multi-year contract.

They were excited about the possibility of teaming him with power forward Elton Brand once they were able to re-sign him.

There was only one problem: Brand, who was initially fired up about the Davis signing and the potential to compete for a title, decided instead to go where he could get the most money and ended up in Philadelphia with the 76ers.

The Clippers then lost forward Corey Maggette to the Warriors, who exacted some revenge for losing their point guard by prying him away from Los Angeles. It seems that it all went downhill in a hurry from there.

One positive for the Clippers was the acquisition of forward Zach Randolph who, while not the best teammate, is still a scoring machine in the low post. Randolph leads the team in scoring at 22.8 points per game along with 9.7 rebounds per contest.

There is a little bit of hope with some of the younger players on the team, so the Clippers do have a few guys to build around if they can do it right as an organization.

Forward Al Thornton is the team's second leading scorer, averaging over 16 points per game along with 5.3 rebounds.

Rookie point guard Eric Gordon has played well in his first season despite the fact he left Indiana after his freshman year. He is averaging 14.7 points per game while starting alongside Davis.

The Clippers also have Steve Novak on the bench, an excellent three-point shooter who could certainly be a solid role player off of the bench for a long time to come.

Los Angeles is pretty much the most hopeless team in the league year-in and year-out, and I'm not sure there is anything I can say to comfort their diehard fans who continue to put themselves through this misery.
