Indiana Pacers 09-10 Season Wrap Up
Posted 4/21/2010
The Indiana Pacers continue to rebuild the club, but the results left fans with little hope for improvement in the near future.
The Pacers actually didn't treat their season ticket holders all that badly, finishing above .500 when playing in front of the home crowd. They were dreadful away from Conseco Field House, which explains their final record.
Danny Granger continues to average well over 20 points per game, which at least gives the fans a star to watch. That said, it doesn't seem like Granger is the type of player who can carry a team on his back.
There is nothing wrong with Granger's abilities, but he needs a star playing alongside him to really take the Pacers to the next level. He is more Scottie Pippen than Michael Jordan, so the Pacers need to go find him an M.J.
Point guard play has been a major problem for this team. T.J. Ford has not turned into the type of player they had hoped, leaving Earl Watson to earn the most minutes at the position.
The scariest part may be the fact that this team has very little young talent that will blossom in the coming years. Roy Hibbert has been a pleasant surprise, but young up and comers are few and far between on this roster.
