Denver Nuggets 2010-11 Mid-Season Review
Posted 1/25/2011
The Denver Nuggets have coasted through the first half of the NBA season as rumors continue to swirl about their star player, Carmelo Anthony, being traded to another team.

Anthony requested to be traded in the offseason, unhappy with the direction of the team. He said he also wants to return to the East Coast, but despite three months of trade talk, he is still stuck in Denver.

It's been a big distraction to the team, and it doesn't help that Anthony just looks like he is going through the motions. His body language tells the story, even if he is still putting up over 23 points and eight rebounds per game.

In some ways, Anthony's frustration with the team's inability to bring in a top free agent is understandable. Besides Anthony and Chauncey Billups, this team is short on impact players.

Al Harrington was expected to be a productive player, but he is only averaging 12 points and five rebounds per contest. Those aren't bad numbers, but probably not what the Nuggets were hoping for.

Despite all of that, the Nuggets are in third place and only a few games behind division leader Oklahoma City. If Anthony remains in Denver, the team can certainly get to the playoffs and maybe even get past the first round.
