One year removed from the LeBron James "Decision," most Cleveland Cavaliers fans are still trying to get over losing their hometown superstar.
The Cavaliers, like every other Cleveland professional sports team, is set for another season at the bottom of the standings.
The one bit of good news is that the Cavaliers were able to take Kyrie Irving in the NBA Draft, giving the fans a potential star point guard to buy into over the next decade.
Irving isn't likely to ever be one of the very best in the game, but he can certainly become one of the top point guards in the Eastern Conference. It helps that Baron Davis can lend a helping hand, and it will be interesting to see if he embraces the role of mentor to Irving.
Cleveland, regardless of what their crazy owner may say, is in the midst of a massive rebuilding project. Other than Irving, it's hard to find a single young player on the roster who will be a significant piece on a future contending team.
The Cavaliers did load up in the draft, especially when it came to foreign players who may be able to help them down the road. Then again, those players are often like lottery tickets; very few end up panning out. Cavs fans are still holding out for a bit of luck.
