Cleveland Cavaliers 2010 Playoffs Preview
Posted 4/15/2010
The Cleveland Cavaliers come into this year's playoffs as the No. 1 seed and team to beat in the Eastern Conference. They won more than 60 games this season, more than any other team in the league. The league's top record combined with LeBron James pending free agency means the pressure to win the title this year is at unprecedented levels in Cleveland.
Any time you have a player the caliber of LeBron, your team is going to have a shot at an NBA championship. James is considered the best player in the NBA and has already won the scoring title in his young career. He has not won an NBA title yet, which seems to be the one thing separating him from becoming one of the greats of the game.
The Cavaliers finally went out and brought in some help for James, trading for Washington Wizards veteran forward Antawn Jamison. He is the perfect compliment for Cleveland because he is a great teammate who wants to win a championship just as much, if not more, than James.
Jamsion has never been on a legitimate NBA title contender and knows he doesn't have many years left to get that elusive ring. He will do all the little things it takes to win and won't take the ball out of James hand.
Only the Orlando Magic and Boston Celtics would seem to pose any kind of challenge to the Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference, but there is little doubt that Cleveland is the overwhelming favorite.
The Magic did manage to stun the Cavaliers and knock them out of the playoffs last year, something that James still hasn't forgotten. I'm sure that he would more than welcome a rematch.
The Los Angeles Lakers are not nearly as dominant this year, so it could finally be James' turn to be crowned NBA champion.
