Chicago Bulls 2009 Season Update
Posted 12/29/2009
The Chicago Bulls are in a full free-fall and now their head coach is taking a lot of heat for the team's poor performance.

The Bulls seem to have plenty of young talent that has been developing together the past few years, but the lack of improvement in the standings has fans frustrated and looking for answers.

Questions surrounding head coach Vinny Del Negro are certainly warranted but also hurting the team at the same time. The last thing this group needs is a distraction surrounding the future of their head coach.

Ben Gordon signed elsewhere in the offseason, which meant the Bulls would have to move forward without their most explosive scorer and arguably the leader of the team.

Luol Deng has stepped up to fulfill that role, and there is no questioning his immense talent. He leads the team in points per game and is second in rebounding.

Derrick Rose is having somewhat of a sophomore slump but remains one of the team's top players and certainly its most important.

Kirk Hinrich is also an important part of the team, but he was lost for a few weeks while dealing with an injury.

The Bulls also have a couple of rookies in Taj Gibson and Josh Johnson that they feel really good about and are excited to watch them mature and develop into quality NBA basketball players.

The Bulls aren't thinking about the playoffs right now, but in the Eastern Conference, anything can happen. They certainly have the talent to reach the postseason, but it's a matter of whether or not they can get it to all come together.
