Charlotte Bobcats 2011-12 Season Preview
Posted 12/21/2011
The Charlotte Bobcats fell short of the playoffs last year and angered much of their fanbase when they traded forward Gerald Wallace to clear some salary from their roster.
Wallace was the team's only All-Star and one of the few reasons Bobcats fans have continued to show up and watch this team on a nightly basis.
Under Michael Jordan's leadership, the team has been a huge disappointment, having never reached the postseason since the inception of the franchise.
It's hard to see anything changing anytime soon when looking over a roster that does have some youth but lacks talented players.
Charlotte is desperate for someone to step up and become a star. The team hopes Kemba Walker can become that guy, but he won't really have a true position in the NBA. He doesn't have the height or shooting ability to settle in at shooting guard and he lacks the passing and ball-handling ability to be the point guard.
The Bobcats already have too many guards as it is on their roster, which is mostly a result of failed draft picks. Given the lack of talent on the roster, don't expect Charlotte to make a playoff push for yet another season, which won't do much to help the franchise's sagging attendance.
